A guide to holiday ride-sharing discounts in Pittsburgh

Use these deals for your holiday travels.

Tonight is for drinking with old friends, followed by turkey with the folks on Thursday and lots of shopping on Friday and Saturday.

It’s just the start of the holiday season, but it’s bound to be busy/stressful. Borrowing a car or not having to drive yourself makes it a little easier, right?

Here are holiday ride-sharing deals available to Pittsburghers from Lyft, Uber and Zipcar.

Lyft

If you’re new to Lyft, use the code FRIDAY16 for $10 off two rides for Black Friday. Basically, it means no navigating a packed parking lot. Plus, the code is valid for two weeks once, so you can use it again.

Uber

Mark this one if you are traveling out of state. Uber and American Express are offering two free rides (up to $65 each) for trips from 11 major airports through the end of the year. A full list is here, but think major cities: New York, Chicago, D.C., Boston and so on.

This way, you don’t have to have someone pick you up — but you do have to be an American Express card holder.

Uber also created this handy list of features to use during the holidays like scheduling your ride up to 30 days in advance, splitting fares and paying for a friend’s ride.

Zipcar

If you’d rather just drive yourself, but don’t have a car, Zipcar is offering a holiday promotion now to Jan. 14. Cars are $59 for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
