Pittsburgh’s newest news site, which launched Tuesday, has filled its full-time business role: Meet Ryan Croyle, a former standout salesman at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“We’re thrilled to have Ryan join us at The Incline,” said Jim Brady, CEO and founder of Spirited Media, The Incline’s parent company. “Since we launched Billy Penn, we’ve been determined to find a business model for local news that combines events and advertising, and we’re excited to have Ryan on board to lead that charge in Pittsburgh.”

“I’m excited to join The Incline and look forward to helping grow the company,” said Ryan, The Incline’s vice president of sales and events.

He is tasked with overseeing all aspects of advertising and sales, as well as events, developing and selling sponsorship packages, and collaborating with The Incline’s editorial staff to bring those event ideas to life.

Ryan spent the past four years with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, where he started as a digital specialist, developing targeted marketing strategies to companies across multiple verticals. He was later promoted to sales manager, where he was responsible for leading and managing a top team. Ryan also spent two years with Calkins Media as a territory manager and three years with AT&T as a Google Certified Digital Account Executive.

Angela Smith, vice president of events and sales at Billy Penn, said “We are very excited to have Ryan on board, heading up sales and events for The Incline. His knowledge of the Pittsburgh market will be essential in implementing a successful strategy for us. I can’t wait to see the innovative ideas and fun events he develops for our readers.”

Ryan graduated from Penn State University with a bachelors of Science degree in marketing. He resides in Wexford with his wife, Lori, and sons, Tyler and Benjamin.
