It’s another excuse to combine politics, camaraderie … and, in some cases, booze.
Vice presidential hopefuls Tim Kaine, the Virginia senator in Hillary Clinton’s corner, and Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana, who’s teamed up with Donald Trump, will have their one and only debate tonight.
Why should you watch? “The debate can shed light on whether the No. 2 candidates are up to the job of being No. 1. But beyond showing their own mettle, the vice-presidential candidates also have the task of defending their running mates,” The New York Times writes.
It’s also a chance to pre-game Sunday’s second presidential debate.
We’ve compiled a list viewing parties for tonight’s debate and will do the same for Sunday’s showdown. To have your event included in either list, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Debate Party.”
And if you can’t get enough of the VP candidates, don’t forget Kaine will be in town on Thursday. (Pence has yet to schedule a return to Pittsburgh.)
