The 10 things Pittsburghers forget in their Uber

Our weather sucks.

Step out of an Uber at the end of the night, and all of a sudden, you realize you don’t have something with you.

For Pittsburghers, that something is mostly likely your hat.

Uber released a Lost & Found Index today to give a glimpse into what Uber riders forget — and when they’re most likely to remember those items. The index also includes the “50 Most Unique Items” aka the weirdest. Our personal favorites on that list: “Valuable Nordic walking poles,” hot Cheetos, elf cut-out and a dog sweater.

Uber provided The Incline with a list of the top 10 most forgotten items in Pittsburgh so far for 2017 to compare with the year’s national list. Turns out we’re slightly better than the national average when it comes to holding onto our phones, but only slightly. (It’s the No. 2 item lost in Pittsburgh and No. 1 across the country.)

Sunglasses are the No. 10 most-forgotten item across the country, but they don’t make Pittsburgh’s list. Instead, hats and umbrellas are the local list bookend. Which is just depressing.

Compare the lists here:

1. Hat1. Phone
2. Phone2. Ring
3. Ring3. Keys
4. Wallet4. Wallet
5. Check5. Glasses
6. Keys6. Purse
7. Purse7. License / ID
8. Gloves8. Gloves
9. Glasses9. Charger
10. Umbrella10. Sunglasses

P.S. If you lose something, use the Uber app to call your driver. Go to the menu, select “help,” then “Report an issue with this trip” and “I lost an item” to follow the directions from there. This handy video explains it, too.
