As the winner of the Ultimate Pittsburgh Fish Fry bracket, St. Alphonsus gets bragging rights and the satisfaction of knowing their fish fry beat out 31 others for the title.
But they also got this:
On Friday, The Incline delivered the trophy to the Wexford church which received thousands of votes during five weeks of voting. Organizers Frank McSorley and Mike Cuddy accepted the trophy in the school cafeteria turned dining room. In short speeches, they thanked the customers and the volunteers.
“We have 150 to 200 volunteers who do this every week, and they all care a lot about making sure you have a great dining experience,” Cuddy said to applause.
The final display spot for the trophy is TBA, and McSorley and Cuddy joked that maybe they’ll build a case for it.
You have one more chance to go to the St. Alphonsus fish fry this year. They’re open from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 14 (extended hours for Good Friday). The church and school are at 201 Church Road in Wexford, and here’s the menu.
