There are so many options — from tacos to hot dogs and BBQ to basically anything that involves cheese.
We asked for your favorite food trucks, and you gave us a wide range of cuisine to create the Ultimate Pittsburgh Food Truck bracket. Using your nominations and our research, we broke it down to four — possibly slightly odd, yet delicious — categories:
- Comfort food. What do Pittsburghers eat when they’re sad? Or when it’s raining, and you want to just curl up on the couch? Well, pierogies of course. But also chili, BBQ and chicken and waffles.
- Sandwiches n’at. This is all about classic and handheld choices. Find burgers, hot dogs and even gyros here.
- Tacos. Tacos from a truck. Enough said.
- Wild card. We split the last quadrant in half to get as many of your nominations in as possible: Four desserts — yum, ice cream — and four fan favorites, from seafood to breakfast.
It’s not going to be easy, but in the end, we want to know: Which truck is the Ultimate Pittsburgh Food Truck?
To get to that answer, we’re presenting 32 contenders for your consideration, pitted against one another in an NCAA-style bracket. There is much research to be done. Then, cast your vote in each race, and tell your friends to vote, too. You have until 10 a.m. Monday May 22. Check back May 23 to find out who made it to the Sweet Sixteen.
