South Side revelers: There will soon be another option for late-night eats on Carson Street.

Joining the ranks of Benny Fierro’s and The Groove Cheesesteak Co., something sweeter this way comes. Insomnia Cookies will open its first Pittsburgh location at 1734 E. Carson St. this summer, according to a press release sent to The Incline.

Insomnia Cookies officials expect to open this summer, but an exact opening date has not been announced.

Founded in a college dorm room by a University of Pennsylvania student, Insomnia Cookies is a college-town staple. Until now, the closest Pennsylvania locations have been in Indiana (near Indiana University of Pennsylvania) and State College (near Penn State).

The bakery specializes in serving warm cookies from morning until late night (3 a.m.) — for pick-up or delivery. Officials expect the South Side location to serve all the favorites including chocolate chunk, snickerdoodle, chocolate peanut butter cup and the s’mores deluxe. Those with an extra voracious sweet tooth can add ice cream with customizable options, such as an the cookie a la mode and cookiewich. A pint of cold milk can also be added to any order.

In honor of its South Side grand opening, the bakery will offer a free cookie to all customers who present a free cookie coupon in the store. Fans are asked to follow Insomnia Cookies on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and @cookiesVIP on Snapchat for more information.
