There’s a Pittsburgh-made gift for everybody on your shopping list this holiday season. Here’s your guide to the best local holiday markets around town, from outdoor vendors in the middle of Downtown to a Small Business Saturday pop-up shop. We’ve organized the list chronologically, so you’ll know where to shop — whether you start your holiday shopping before Thanksgiving or at the last minute. We’re not judging. Shop at the sixth annual outdoor holiday market from a variety of vendor booths, including local visiting vendors Abandoned Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Pottery and Three Rivers Clay Works. Located in the heart of Downtown, the market runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

The Allegheny Artisans Holiday Market features a variety of a local makers in a special setting — a restored barn at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. Plus, if you want to get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping, this one takes place before Thanksgiving.

When: November 19, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
One-hundred regional artists will bring handmade wares to the "I Made It! Market," so you can check off everybody of your shopping list. There's also hands-on crafting along with a kids shop on Sunday. The event will be held inside the former Office Depot space beside Michael's Craft Store at the Waterfront.

The Community Empowerment Association is hosting Buy Black - A Black Saturday Holiday Market Place encouraging shoppers to use their economic power to support black businesses and black entrepreneurs during the holiday season. "Don't spend your money on Black Friday," the event listing says "but support black owned businesses on Saturday."

Small Business Saturday kicks off the beginning of four weekly PennStyled pop-ups this holiday season. Trusst Lingerie will turn into a holiday pop-up showcasing four local women designers: Kiya Tomlin of Uptown Sweats, Gillian Preston of Broken Plates, Nisha Blackwell of Knotzland and Shannon Pultz of Blak Rust, with Sophia Berman and Susan Banerjee of Trusst Lingerie.

Stop by your favorite gift shop on Museum Store Sunday to pick up a gift inspired by art, science or history. Bonus: Make a day of it, and check out the museum after you shop. Participating museums in Pittsburgh include:

If you live in the Eastern 'burbs (or are willing to face the Parkway to get there), this market in Monroeville promises 55 vendors, along with holiday refreshments, photos with Santa and music.

When: November 26, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This one isn't just a holiday mart, it's a holiday mART — emphasis on the art. This pop-up boutique features locally made handcrafted gifts, such as jewelry, ceramics, glass, weavings, knitted wears, fine art, wood craft, toys, cards and ornaments. In all, expect to see more than 5,000 items for sale from more than 100 artists. Event runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

In terms of maker-made, this one is the biggie every year. It's worth the crowds to shop at Handmade Arcade, which this year features more than 170 vendors (66 of them first-time vendors), an activity area with make-and-take projects, raffles and music. It's set to be the biggest Handmade Arcade in 13 years.

More than 30 regional vintage and handmade vendors will take over two floors of the Ace Hotel. On the list: Functional ceramic ware from Bombabird, American-made lingerie from Calligramme and vintage apparel from Highway Robbery Vintage.

LUXE Creative will transform Hotel Monaco into a winter wonderland. Grab a holiday-inspired sandwich and some cider to shop from a long list of The Wintermarket vendors. Check out a selection of handmade items like glassware, soft goods, leather goods, jewelry and more from local makers.

The holiday market at Threadbare Cider and Mead will no doubt be a big draw, but there's also mulled cider cocktails, wassail crown making and cookie decorating to enjoy between buying stuff.

The holidays are here, and if you're shopping still isn't done, you're in luck. This event from the good people at Second Shift Crafters assembles 30 local artists and their wares — everything from candles and soap to jewelry and fudge — and allows you to check off your last few holiday gift items all in one place. Oh, yeah, and brunch and cocktails are included.
