Because every pet was a very good boy or girl, right?

By now, you’ve probably checked off at least some of the people on your gift-buying list. But what about your furry friends?

The Incline rounded up this list of locally made gifts for the cats and dogs who’ve been good boys and good girls this year.

P.S. Still stumped on those human gifts? Check out our Pittsburgh-made gift guide and gift guide for local beer lovers.  And there are still a few more holiday markets for inspiration, too.

But for now, on to the gifts for pets and their owners:

Cake mix from Puppy Cake

Know a dog with a human who loves baking? Mix that person’s passion with their pet’s love of eating. Puppy Cake offers cake mixes in various flavors, some that are wheat-free, as well as ice cream, cheesecake and cookie mixes. Plus, check out the dog-themed baking pans.

Price: $6.99 for cake mixes; buy it here or at Healthy Pet Products, 9805 McKnight Road (McCandless) / 3043 Washington Road (McMurray) or One Haute Dog, 1000 Ross Park Mall Drive (McCandless).

Win your cat’s love with this set of stainless steel food and water bowls as well as a heart-shaped scratcher. The bowls are heavy to prevent tipping and spills. Price: $70, but it’s on sale for $60 for a limited time; buy it here. Americat products are also sold at Healthy Pet Products (McCandless and McMurray), Lawrenceville Pet Supply, 5152 Butler St. (Lawrenceville) and Petagogy, 5880 Ellsworth Ave. (Shadyside).

‘More Wags, Less Jags’ dog T-shirt from Commonwealth Press

Pet grass from Wheatgrass &

A gift for both cats and dogs (birds, too), pet grass from Wheatgrass & is a gift that keeps them healthy and gives pets something green to nibble on during the cold, gray winter. Eating your greens is a good tip for humans or pets, TBH.

Price: $4.99; buy it at Petagogy (Shadyside).

One more idea: Donate to pets in need

If you don’t (or can’t) have a pet, or even if you do, you can show some love to animals in need. In addition to monetary donations, local organizations that care for shelter pets are asking for supplies.
