Commemorate the 29th anniversary of the African American Read-In

The United Black Book Clubs of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation are hosting the 29th Annual African American Read-In. At the open read-in, they'll read and invite the community to share works of African, African American and Caribbean authors. The National African American Read-In is the nation’s first and oldest event dedicated to diversity in literature. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month.
