Learn how to make cheese and butter

Start by learning the history of dairy farming, and by the end of the workshop, you'll know how to make your own cheese and butter. Better yet, this Ferment Pittsburgh class includes "many samples."

Hear about new developments in the Hill District

In this community meeting in the Hill District, learn the details about several proposed Hill District developments, including MOKA Art Gallery and Wylie Bistro. Attendees are also welcome to give their input on the New Granada Theater development, homeownership opportunities, business programming and a potential expansion of Healthy Ride into the neighborhood.

Welcome Wednesday with ‘Wizards and Weirdos’

"Wizards and Weridos," a weekly Wednesday night game night hosted by Black Market Deli offers up a host of games, such as Magic the Gathering, Settlers of Catan and Dungeons & Dragons. Located along Warrington Avenue, the venue is one of the latest addition along the neighborhood’s revitalizing main drag.

Party with The Incline

Play Third Thursday Trivia with The Incline

Literally lol on your Friday night

This Steel City Improv Theater performance combines storytelling and improv. Special guest Alan Olifson (the host of Pittsburgh's monthly Moth StorySLAMs) will shared real, true-life stories with a special theme of "altered states of conscious." Those true stories will inspire a night of improv.

Saturday

Get outside to mark Earth Day

Parks Conservancy naturalists and partners from across the city will lead one-hour hikes and activities throughout Frick Park. Event-goers are encouraged to consider biking, carpooling, or busing to these events and to use reusable water bottles.

Celebrate Earth Day At ReuseFest

Drop off your gently used unwanted things, so they can be reused by local nonprofits. A wide variety of things will be collected — everything from craft supplies to clothing to kitchen items to skateboard supplies. Also check out the Reuse Marketplace, which features reused goods for sale, a market, and craft activities. (P.S. Here are some other donation options as you're spring cleaning.)

Catch on to composting

At this Backyard Composting Workshop, learn from the PA Resources Council how to compost. The workshop will cover the importance and benefits of composting, the process, proper maintenance, and ways of using finished compost. Listen to live music while supporting the Artivist Academy

Hear from 13 bands, check out an artist market and eat some food truck fare at the Wilkins Block Party while supporting 1Hood Media's Artivist Academy. The Academy develops artists and activist who stand as the first response to matters negatively impacting social justice using art and modern activist methodologies to confront injustices and amplify the messages of the disenfranchised. Bands include Jasiri X, Beauty Slap and Starship Mantis.
