It’s been a busy year so far and will continue to be with midterm elections coming up and a number of high-profile storylines unfolding in Pittsburgh. We’re excited for what’s ahead for the city and excited for the projects we have planned as well.

For almost two years, our reporting has painted a more nuanced and complete picture of the city we love — stories that you can’t find anywhere else.

This includes our award-winning work on the city’s burgeoning food and drink scene, our Peculiar Pittsburgh series, our regular fact checks of state and local politicians, and often overlooked stories that fall through the cracks.

As a reader-supported news organization, we depend on — and answer to — you. Your support directly impacts our ability to provide fair, down-the-middle reporting on issues that matter.

Local, public service journalism like ours is needed now more than ever, but we can’t do it alone. Our spring membership drive starts NOW, and we’re trying to grow from about 60 members to 250 by June 14.

What do you say? Will you join the cause?

If you join today, you’re invited to celebrate our membership drive with us at an exclusive event, a behind-the-scenes tour of Threadbare Cider House and Meadery.

A cider maker will take you on a tour of the facility, where you’ll enjoy samples and learn how apples are transformed into a delicious beverage and the colorful history of cider in America, from Johnny Appleseed to Prohibition. After your tour, meet and talk with our staff and founder, Jim Brady.

Together, we help power a better-informed Pittsburgh. Thank you for investing in local journalism.
