Update, 3:10 p.m.

Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, who survived the October massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue, delivered the invocation at Gov. Tom Wolf’s second inauguration Tuesday.

Below is his prayer in full:

Governor, may God grant you not only vision to see the icebergs in your voyage but knowledge to recognize the 90 percent below the surface.

May God grant you not only an ear that hears, but the wisdom to listen.

May God grant you the ability to differentiate between deciding by your gut, deciding by your heart, and deciding by your experience.

May God grant you the recognition that the vast majority of people are good people and that their goodness will always overcome others who use the “H” word in speech and deed.

May the overwhelming love and unity demonstrated by the good people of Pittsburgh become a model for the type of community that is possible throughout this state, so that one day other governors will call you and ask you, “How’d you do it?”

May it be your will, our God and God of our ancestors, to reawaken in us joy and blessing in the new term of Gov. Wolf’s administration.

Grant the peaceful term with goodness and blessing, sustenance and vitality. A time of reverence and piety, a time free from shame and reproach. A time of abundance and honor, a reverent time guided by the words of our sacred traditions.

A life in which the worthy aspirations of all Pennsylvanians will be fulfilled.

And let us all say “Amen.”
