See the holiday lights at Kennywood

It's opening day for Kennywood's holiday light display. Go to see the lights, hear local choirs perform and see Pittsburgh Dad. Of course, there will be fireworks.

Celebrate all things pierogi

Two dozen restaurants, chefs and pierogi purveyors will serve pierogies, pierogi-inspired dishes and dessert pierogies at this daylong festival. To really show your love for the pierogi, you can shop the pop-up pierogi marketplace and take home pierogi t-shirts, jewelry and pottery. Several Kennywood rides will be open during the day. Food and beverages are not included in the ticket price.

Take a journey back to 1987

Pittsburgh Dad is hosting a premiere screening of the new film "Street Light Stories," based on the popular "Pittsburgh Dad" show. The 12-minute film is a 1987-based portrait of a family's summer night. Screenings will be held at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.; a Q&A session with the show's creators will follow each screening.

Thrill-seekers can commemorate the Fourth at Kennywood during the Celebrate America event. It'll feature Zambelli fireworks every night, a hot dog eating contest, entertainment and all the fun of Kennywood.
