Pittsburgh will celebrate the Fourth of July with a flag-raising, colonial reenactments, an Air Force flyover, live music, and, of course, fireworks.

Meet Cappy, Dodger and Zane, the newest Pittsburgh police dogs. Cappy, a bloodhound, uses his tracking skills to locate lost and at-risk people, including children and dementia patients. Dodger, a black lab, is the city’s first accelerant detection canine and will work with the fire investigation unit. And Zane, a golden retriever, is the city’s first comfort dog who will help first responders and victims of violent crimes. (WTAE)

Pittsburgh alligators are making a splash in the news right now, but Yinzigators are nothing new. In fact, gator sightings around town date back to the 1800s.
