Bienvenidos, Steelers fans south of the border.
Outside the United States, Steeler Nation is strongest in Mexico. Why, exactly? The Steelers are making a big effort to market to fans in Mexico by hosting a football camp each year in Mexico City and creating Spanish language content for Facebook, 90.5 WESA reports.
It makes business sense for the Steelers. A bigger fan base means more engagement on the Steelers radio station, more sales opportunities, and more people buying black-and-gold gear.
And it benefits our city, too. New fans travel to the Steel City and spend millions on their visits. During the 2018 season, people from 30 different countries bought tix for Steelers home games.
Now the Steelers are looking for new fans in China and Germany.
Los geht’s Steelers!
