After the President of the United States used the word “shithole” on Thursday to describe African countries he considers less desirable sources of immigration than, say, Norway, news outlets around the country were confronted with a choice: Use the word he used, use a euphemism for it or dance around his language altogether. Here in Pittsburgh, a Tweet from the Post-Gazette’s official account sent up a red flag over a request from the paper’s publisher to scrub the word from the first paragraph of an article about Trump’s comments. It drew a swift reaction from readers, with many urging the newsroom not to concede, and it may hint at a deeper rift.
Ben Roethlisberger didn't want to think about life after this season when he was asked if he'll go into Sunday's game at Heinz Field thinking it could be his last in Pittsburgh. But this Steelers run could very well be his last, and with the contract situation looming for Le'Veon Bell, this run (heck, even this game) could be the final in Pittsburgh for the Killer Bs. Savor the moment, Steelers fans.
