You have probably seen (and have been freaked out by) the signs on Port Authority buses that promise "Changing is coming." Here's what that means: On Jan. 1, 2017, bus riders with a ConnectCard will pay a flat fare of $2.50. Riders with cash will pay $2.75 for each ride — no more paper transfers. Another big change: All riders will pay when they enter. Port Authority is asking riders to exit through the back. Good luck with that.
Like parking for free in the South Side after 6 p.m.? Sure you do. But Pittsburgh City Council could soon extend metered hours in the party district, per TribLive. That could start as soon as February — and expand to other neighborhoods, too.
City Council approved a trust fund for affordable housing with an annual $10 million goal, but there isn’t a revenue source yet, per the Post-Gazette. The fund would help low- to moderate-income city residents with down payments, home rehabilitation, new development and more. Mayor Bill Peduto is expected to sign the legislation and he and council are working on that funding source.
