PITTSBURGHESE FINALLY GETS THE RESPECT IT DESERVES
The Oxford English Dictionary this week added one of the Steel City’s most beloved colloquialisms, jagoff. Why now? Because it crossed “a threshold of prominence,” even though it’s been around since the 1930s. WE HATE TO BE THE ONES TO TELL YOU, BUT…
… the Liberty Bridge isn’t going to reopen Monday. It may not open for weeks. “While the goal is to reopen the bridge as soon as possible, [PennDOT] will not jeopardize public safety in an effort to expedite the repair,” the state transportation department said in a statement. The contractor responsible for the fire, Joseph B. Fay Co, also put out a release regarding the delay: “As a company, we are proactively investing considerable resources in outside experts and other assets to ensure that the repair is completed safely and swiftly.” What this means for you? More traffic.
