Uber and the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission have reached a settlement over a $11.4 million fine the regulators levied against the ride-sharing company for not having permission to operate in the state. The terms weren't disclosed, the Post-Gazette reported. Uber appealed the fine and asked for the amount to be reduced to $190,000. Mayor Bill Peduto wrote a letter to the commission asking for leniency at the request of Uber.
Street sweeping, every Pittsburgh driver's favorite time of year, returns Monday, the mayor's office announced: "Be sure to check the signs on your block for the posted days and times that street sweeping will occur." While you'll have to check your individual street to find out which day or days are impacted (there doesn't appear to be an online list), the times are the same: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. You've been warned.
