Fall is here, and so are some new Pittsburgh restaurants! Even if life behind the scenes has been tough for restaurateurs, our food scene keeps diversifying. In the past weeks, ownership has changed in time-tested establishments and a favorite local brewery closed its doors. Read on for the latest in Pittsburgh eats.

🌮 Condado Tacos has another area outpost, and this one comes with an interior full of Pittsburgh art. Local muralists decorated the inside of the Columbus chain’s new North Hills location on US-19, which opens Oct. 20. (Cranberry)
🌯 The Hungry Cowgirl is now delivering Tex-Mex. The restaurant was started by a Federal Galley alumna and currently exists solely as a virtual outfit serving Tex-Mex comfort food to hungry diners at home. (Online)
☕ James Cafe is now open in the Strip, and another location is in the works for the Triangle Building downtown. The chill coffee shop is serving a full range of drinks in a spacious new storefront near Cinderlands and Wigle Whiskey. (Strip District)
🍨 Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is serving scoops in Bakery Square. The Columbus-based ice cream maker is planning a another location in SouthSide Works at a later date. (East Liberty)
🇰🇷 K-Town Snack Bar is now open near Pitt’s campus. The Korean street food spot is a spinoff of the Mr. Bulgogi food truck and is geared toward quick bites on a college-student budget. The restaurant also recently announced it would be adding delivery. (Oakland)
🍺 Mindful Brewing is popping up at Trax Farms just in time for fall. The Castle Shannon brewery will serve their various brews at a weekend taproom through October 23. (Finleyville)
☕ Yinz Coffee has expanded, with new locations serving coffee and pastries in the Carnegie Library, on Baum Boulevard in Friendship, in SouthSide Works and at UPMC East. The coffee maker emerged from Crazy Mocha’s bankruptcy and has taken over several former Crazy Mocha locations. (Various)

🍣 Kura, an Osaka-based revolving sushi bar, is coming to SouthSide Works. The restaurant will start its conveyor belts in what used to be the SouthSide Works movie theater sometime next year. (SouthSide Works)

😲 Ch-ch-changes
🇭🇳 Cafetano is set to become Soluna. The Honduran coffee spot will continue to serve hot drinks while adding a liquor license and food menu focused on Honduran cuisine and specialty mezcal offerings. Cafetano will continue to exist as a brand, but now at a location in Florida. (Strip District)
🍺 Penn Brewing has a new owner. Pittsburgh’s oldest craft brewery is now in the hands of an Austrian businessman (and metalhead!) who calls his new project’s beer “the most authentically European beer I’ve tasted.” Penn will continue serving its decorated ales and lagers while adding live music and renovating the site’s historic lagering caves. 😭 Goodbye
🍺 Spring Hill Brewing has closed its doors. The neighborhood microbrewery stayed open through the end of last month before its owner took a hiatus from the biz. The former German social club out of which Spring Hill operated will remain in business as an event space and wedding venue. (Spring Hill)
