Hang out with reindeer at Wholey’s

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. Well, if you don't, this is your chance to meet Dasher and Dancer, at least. Straight from the North Pole, this dynamic deer duo will hang out at Wholey's Market in the Strip District. Kids (and adults, we assume) can feed the reindeer with a small donation to the Homeless Children's Education Fund.

Where: Wholey's Fish Market at 1711 Penn Ave. (Strip District)

When: December 2, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

How much: Free, donation required to feed the reindeer

Visit the airport — to shop

Check off some holiday shopping from your list at the airport. Yes, the airport's hosting its annual holiday open house, and you can score deals from a bunch of airmall shops. Guests are asked to pre-register to expedite the check-in process. A little gift from the airport: Free parking for shoppers.

Where: Pittsburgh International Airport at 1000 Airport Blvd. (Moon)

When: December 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Go skating in a holiday wonderland

The MassMutual Pittsburgh Ice Rink at PPG Place has everything for a perfect holiday-themed outdoor workout. The ice rink is bigger than the one at Rockefeller Center in New York City and is surrounded with holiday decor. It's open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturdays through Jan. 1.

Where: PPG Plaza at 1 PPG Place (Downtown)

When: November 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. to November 25, 2017 at 12:00 a.m.

How much: $8 and $4 for skate rental
